Trailblazing with Lori: 16 Days and Counting!!!
Candidate's Corner: Multi-tasking is NOT a problem here. We can prepare for the Super Bowl (!!!) and the primary two days later. NO PROBLEM. What started as a soft patter of trailblazing feet has grown to a swell of many and I cannot say often enough how grateful and inspired I am by the many volunteers whose support has brought us this close to the finish line!
Along this time-compressed journey together, it has been a great pleasure to get to know you all better. It certainly has been an enlightening and rewarding experience to talk to so many in the district who are doing amazing work and making it a point to get to know the candidates. I’ve also recently had the pleasure of reconnecting with friends from my elementary school days in Marblehead and middle (junior, actually) and high school days in Swampscott –- including several talented favorite teachers. And also, since I haven’t said this in a while and many have recently signed up for this newsletter, if you want to say hello, get details on a meet & greet, or have a great location for a sign, just hit reply.
Go Pats! ~ Lori
Grassroots Sprouts:
~ Super Saturday canvassing yesterday involved knocking on doors and IDing voters for Election Day, both fun and fruitful! Expect a repeat (and a mid-week email with details) for Saturday the 26th!
~ All-Hands-On-Deck Volunteer Party is tomorrow, January 21st at the home of Shelley Sackett, 116 Ocean Ave. in Swampscott at 4:30 p.m. We will need lots of help on Election Day and your attendance to our volunteer party to find out what you can do is much appreciated!
~ ONE OF OUR MOST IMPORTANT GRASSROOTS JOBS: If you have not already been in touch with Ryan Adams (or 781-599-6114), please contact him and he will send you your call list along with a script. It only takes about an hour to get through a list of 50 people and it will make a tremendous difference to the success of this campaign ~ Dear Friend postcards are in. Please email lale@comcast.net if you need some to send to friends or neighbors. We also have lawn signs, pins, and bumper stickers (easily and safely removed at a later date following these tips).
NEW ENDORSEMENTS: Many new organizational endorsements have come in! Drop by our endorsements page at www.loriehrlich.com for the list! ~ We are also starting to get in some great endorsements from local residents who have worked with Lori and know her mettle! Some of our favorite quotes: “(Lori)… has an incredible talent for pulling in resources from all over the country and leading others to fix what needs fixing.” And this from Jan Schlichtmann, our special celebrity guest who introduced Lori at the well-attended Celebrity Fund-raiser at Sweeney’s last Sunday, “We all know Lori has a brain. And we all know that Lori has a heart. But what Lori has, that a lot of politicians don’t, is a spine that connects the two!” Wow. Go Lori!
Speaking of endorsements, tomorrow 5 p.m. is the Marblehead Reporter and Swampscott Reporter’s deadline for endorsement letters to the Editor should your talents lean towards spot-on pithy. Submissions can be sent to Marblehead@cnc.com or Swampscott@cnc.com.
WANTED: Phone callers, sign holders, poll checkers, canvassers, and basically every minute you can spare in the two short weeks leading up to the primary on Tuesday, February 5th (and we still have the final election to get to on Tuesday, March 4th)! Grab a stack of palm cards for distribution, if you can. Contact Shelley Sackett or Ryan Adams for more information.
