Lori Ehrlich for State Representative

Trailblazing with Lori: 23 Days and Counting!!!

Candidate's Corner:  At 17-0, The Pats are red blue hot. It's as if we're all approaching the home stretch together. Go Pats!

Just an observation from the campaign trail: As I've been making my way around the district listening to the concerns of constituents, it's become very clear to me that the economy is front and center for so many.  Households are struggling to meet the soaring costs of energy, healthcare, real estate taxes, and insurance with no relief in sight. We are also facing over a $1 billion dollar state deficit this year and the "R" word is leading off every national newscast. My business background tells me that we need to stabilize revenues while exploring new funding initiatives of state and federal mandates. There is also economic potential through better ‘branding’ of our state image as a desirable destination point to live, work, study, and visit. jobs, jobs, jobs. By leveraging both my business and advocacy background, I want to work to achieve these objectives on Beacon Hill.

Meanwhile, no snow until midnight so I hope to see you later at Sweeney’s (4:00-6:00 today)! And if you see me standing on a street corner waving, put the cell phone down for a sec and wave back!  ~ Lori

Grassroots Sprouts: WE NEED OUR GREAT VOLUNTEER BASE TO HELP BY MAKING PHONE CALLS TO PROSPECTIVE VOTERS. Please email: Ryan Adams (or 781-599-6114) and he will send you your first list of 50-60 contacts along with a script. It’s that easy and it will make a big difference! The turnout at last Sunday’s Candidates’ Forum at Temple Emanu-el was well over 200 people, and many said they found out about it from this newsletter. The Trailblazing Team would like to thank all of the supporters who were able to come! We might be a little subjective here but we think hands down, Lori was the most poised, prepared, and substantive of the candidates! ~ For those of you who commute into Boston each morning, maybe you’ve noticed Lori and our valiant volunteers standing at the Swampscott Monument holding signs (and watching the gorgeous sunrises).  If you have even fifteen minutes to spare on an early weekday morning, please contact Shelley at lawyermom@aol.com (or 781-599-2725) ~ Thanks so much to Steve Webster at www.tidbitz.com and Foster’s Promotional goods in Marblehead for our gorgeous lawn signs. Please email lale@comcast.net if you want one of these little beauties that are sprouting up all over town. Pick up, delivery, and installation available! ~  We are gearing up for Super Saturday on January 19th, a fun day of canvassing the neighborhoods to get out the Lori Ehrlich message. ~ Go to www.loriehrlich.com  for more news and pictures!

NEW ENDORSEMENTS:  Four new endorsements came in this week! Clean Water Action, Sierra Club, MassNOW and former (and well respected) State Representative Larry Alexander (D) who served our district for the 12 years prior to Rep. Doug Petersen!

WANTED: On the grassroots front, we still need a couple of precinct captains and poll checkers (just think how good that is going to look on your resume!). Email:  Ryan Adams (or 781.599.6114) for more information.

Say What?  There is good news and bad news as it pertains to the election. The good news is that we expect to have a big turnout due to the simultaneous presidential primary. The bad news is that we have so little time to make people aware that we also have a State Rep seat to fill and to vote for Lori Ehrlich. This is why what we said in the first newsletter is so important: name recognition!! Our goal is to make sure everyone who comes to the polls has at least heard or seen the name Lori Ehrlich (one word). This week’s tip will help do that: Tip 1: Hurry to get your Lori Ehrlich sign (lawn or window), bumper sticker, or pin. FYI: feedback on the Lori Ehrlich pins is that they have been great conversation starters and a few votes have been won just standing in line at the grocery store.
