Dear Constituents-elect (!!!!) and other friends,
It's your work, your conversation, your vote that carried the day on Tuesday. What a team and what an awesome experience! To have all of those months of hard work and countless volunteer hours culminate in a win was your great grassroots moment! The overflow crowd in the pouring rain and tropical indoor temps at Red Rock Bistro and Bar Tuesday evening was a fitting finale. Your choice was resoundingly clear and I'm deeply honored by your participation and charged up for action. Thank you!
"Trailblazing with Lori" lives on! A recurring request of the several hundred congratulatory emails and phone calls is that I somehow keep the Trailblazing newsletter up and running. This was never really in question, but I am exploring kicking it up a notch by creating something more interactive, techie, and fun. If anyone out there with relevant expertise would like to help in developing such a tool, please send me an email. In the meantime,The Trailblazer newsletter lives! ~ although just monthly or so, for now. I will endeavor to update you as I serve you.
On your behalf: Though I will not be sworn in until next Thursday, I'm already hard at work exploring bond bills and the budget process, setting up meetings and systems. I've been visiting with old legislative friends and getting to know many other impressive public servants who work every day under that great gold dome.
District housekeeping: Two sign retrieving teams were dispatched to gather up 350 signs sprinkled around the district and deliver a yummy little gift in return. If you've already taken in your sign, please either save it for next time, or just send me an email and I'll come by and pick it up for repairs and storage. It wasn't easy being a sign this winter!
Headliners: Hear ye! Hear ye! Election articles and precinct results are all up on the website www.loriehrlich.com
2008: will go down in 8th Essex history as a year of elections. I've already pulled signature papers for the next round ~ kid you not. I'm going to be knocking on doors (again) to gather signatures and this time, to say thank you. Spring will be a very welcome addition to this process! With an eye to the fall election, events are already being scheduled. And as always, secure contributions are greatly appreciated and can be made on the website or through the mail. Thank you so much for your generous support thus far.
Constituent Services: I am here! Until the official swearing in, this lovely virtual office is where I'll be when I'm not visiting with people in the district. How can I be of service to you on my first day and beyond? What I can do for you begins with you. I'm in the process of setting up regular district office hours and will post them on the website once I have the time and dates are all set.
And once again, THANK YOU!
